Jammu : Senior BJP Leader and Rajya Sabha Member Ghulam Ali Khatana has expressed strong criticism of the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference Government in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing it of reinstating corrupt practices in key sectors such as Transport and Mining.
At regular public meetings and interaction Khatana highlighted complaints of harassment from government agencies that are prevalent and indicate a lack of transparency and accountability within the administration. He emphasized that the government has neglected the common populace, with ministers operating in isolation from the realities faced by citizens. Khatana provided examples of unemployed youth who, after securing loans to purchase vehicles, encounter harassment from authorities, leading to complications such as vehicle seizures due to lack of proper documentation from suppliers. This situation fosters a corrupt nexus between officials and material suppliers, adversely affecting the livelihoods of these youth and contributing to financial distress, including rising non-performing assets (NPAs) for banks.
