SSP ACB says Academic institutions must uphold ethics, transparency
Srinagar: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar hosted a Special Lecture on Vigilance Awareness as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, aimed at promoting transparency, integrity, and accountability in public life.
The theme for this year’s observance is “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility.” The event featured Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Wani, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), as the Chief Guest, and was presided over by Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Ahanger, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) and Dean of Faculty Welfare at NIT Srinagar. Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia emphasized the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week, stating that it reinforces values of honesty and good governance within institutions. He highlighted the commitment of NIT Srinagar to foster a culture of integrity and accountability, urging every member of the academic community to recognize vigilance as a shared duty essential for a corruption-free society.
