Srinagar: On the eve of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, Jammu and Kashmir Police organised a series of programmes across the Kashmir valley to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). The events were aimed at spreading awareness about national integration, communal harmony, and the values of unity and brotherhood that Sardar Patel championed.
J&K Police on Tuesday organized a series of programs to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, engaging a diverse audience that included students, teachers, civil society members, panchayat representatives, and local residents. Events took place across various locations, including Awantipora, where a seminar was held at Hajahad Public School, alongside public meetings in Tral and Pampore. In Anantnag, activities included an awareness-cum-counseling program in Pahalgam, a seminar on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s achievements at Government Degree College Anantnag, and a Padyatra in Mattan. Sopore hosted public meetings at local police stations and a cleanliness drive at Government High School Hardshiva. In Handwara, educational institutions participated in awareness programs, while Shopian focused on sessions regarding new criminal laws and drug abuse prevention.
