Ganderbal : The Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) on Monday launched a two-week Capacity Building Programme (CBP) focused on “Academic and Research Excellence in Higher Education,” sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
The inaugural session featured prominent figures, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath and other deans and course directors, who emphasized the importance of adapting to the evolving educational landscape shaped by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Prof. Sandhya Tiwari, the Course Director, highlighted the programme’s aim to empower educators through strategic investment in intellectual capital, focusing on pedagogy, research methodology, and data analysis, while integrating Indian Knowledge Systems with modern analytical tools. Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir discussed the shift in teaching and research paradigms, stressing the need for continuous learning and the integration of technology in education. He warned that unprepared teachers risk being outpaced by their students. Prof. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani noted that NEP 2020 promotes a holistic and multidisciplinary educational approach, preparing learners for global challenges.
