Srinagar | : Police on Thursday said that it has seized six vehicles and arrested two persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mineralsin Kulgam and Shopian.
According to police statement issued here on Thursday Police parties of Police Station Devsar and Police Post Mirbazar have seized two vehicles (Tractors) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Mirbazar and Devsar, arrested both the drivers. In Shopian also, 3 tractors, were seized by Police Post Reshnagri operating without valid royalty documents. Similarly, one Tractor was seized by Police Post Berthipora, operating without valid royalty documents.
Police has also registered cases under relevant provisions of law in respective police stations besides initiating further investigations. Police in its statement also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with strictly as per law.
