Awantipora | : Amit Kumar Tamaria, Joint Director and Head of Office at the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) for the UTs Of J&K and Ladakh on Wednesday visited the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED–IUST Foundation) at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Awantipora.
During his visit, he engaged with university officials, startup founders, faculty coordinators, and student innovators, gaining insights into ongoing programs, incubation support, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem at CIED. Tamaria toured various laboratories, including the C4i4 Lab, Design & Development Lab, Fab Lab, Training & Development Lab, and UltraTech Cement Lab, where he inspected advanced equipment such as 3D printers, scanners, CNC machines, and laser cutting tools. He commended IUST for its initiatives in fostering grassroots innovation and supporting the MSME ecosystem, emphasizing the potential for collaboration through various MSME schemes. Dr. Parvez A. Mir, CEO of CIED–IUST Foundation, expressed a positive outlook on enhancing partnerships with MSME to promote innovation-driven enterprises.
