Srinagar | :Police on Wednesday said that it has attached properties of three drug peddlers in Awantipora.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the attachment of two single-storey residential houses valued at approximately ₹18 lakhs, belonging to notorious drug peddlers Muzaffar Ahmad Shalla and Javid Ahmad Ganie. The properties were identified as illegally acquired assets during an inquiry led by the SHO of Police Station Pampore, under the supervision of the SDPO Pampore. The investigation revealed that the properties were obtained through proceeds from illicit drug trafficking. Both individuals are currently in judicial custody at the District Sub Jail Pulwama and are implicated in multiple FIRs. The attachments were executed under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985. Additionally, a double-storey residential house valued at around ₹73 lakhs, owned by another drug peddler, Fareeda Akhter, has also been attached. This property was identified as illegally acquired during an inquiry conducted by the SHO of Police Station Awantipora, under the supervision of the SDPO Awantipora. Like the previous cases, this property was accrued from illicit drug trafficking activities, and Fareeda Akhter is also involved in several FIRs.
