Chib stresses on Quality Education, Timely Completion of Works
Bandipora | : The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review meeting focused on the Education Sector at the Mini Secretariat in Bandipora.
The Chief Planning Officer presented a detailed overview of the district’s educational status, covering aspects such as school enrolment, infrastructure, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) disbursement, learning outcomes, and progress on various educational schemes including Samagra Shiksha, District Capex, UT Capex, PM SHRI, and KGBVs. During the meeting, the DC assessed the functioning of the Education Department and discussed the execution status of ongoing projects under different schemes. She issued immediate directives to concerned officers to expedite project completion and enhance service delivery at the grassroots level. The DC emphasized the importance of adhering to timelines for the completion of works and ensuring that finished buildings are promptly handed over to school authorities for student use. Additionally, she instructed the Executive Engineers to submit bills for released funds and provide lists of projects requiring No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from relevant departments. The DC also called for a compilation of schools lacking essential facilities such as toilets and drinking water, as well as those with inadequate building structures, to be included in future planning. She highlighted the need for updated data on out-of-school, dropout, and never-enrolled children identified through the Talaash Survey for appropriate interventions. The DC underscored the necessity of improving educational quality, achieving 100% enrolment and retention rates, and focusing on the education of girls and migratory children. She directed enhanced monitoring and supervision at zonal levels to ensure transparency and timely project execution. The meeting also reviewed the operations of Atal Tinkering Labs, Vocational Labs, KGBVs, and other significant educational initiatives, with a particular emphasis on prioritizing resource allocation for Atal Tinkering Labs to foster innovation-oriented learning. The DC commended the department’s efforts and called for a renewed emphasis on upgrading infrastructure, improving learning outcomes, and promoting inclusive education across all schools in the district. The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Chief Planning Officer, Chief Education Officer, Deputy CEO, Zonal Education Officers, and Executive Engineers from the Public Works Department.
