Srinagar | :Police on Friday said that it has busted unlawful rebranding of government-issued rice at Shaltokuna Awantipora and arrested the accused besides seizing the vehicle use in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that in a raid led by Inspectors Ajaz Hmad and Bilal Ahmad, following actionable intelligence a Tata Mobile vehicle with registration number JK06-5469 was intercepted and found to be loaded with 80 bags of rice disguised in apple-branded packaging, along with 37 additional rice bags and other incriminating items. Stating that the individual identified as Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ab. Aziz Dar from Shaltokuna, has been linked to the crime Police in its statement further said that a case was registered under FIR No. 207/2025 at the Awantipora Police Station. In its statement Police also reiterated urs commitment to combating black-marketing, hoarding, and illegal profiteering that undermine public distribution systems intended for the community.
