The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hazratbal,Srinagar here on Tuesday entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Plus Medicare Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. (Paras Health, Srinagar branch) to provide quality healthcare services to its employees and their dependents at affordable rates. The signing ceremony included key officials from both institutions, highlighting the collaborative effort to enhance employee welfare. Under the agreement, NIT Srinagar employees and their families will have access to medical services at Paras Health Srinagar based on National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) approved Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) cash rates. However, services under the Mother and Child Department are excluded, with a separate package outlined in the MoU. The Director of NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, emphasized the significance of this MoU in promoting institutional welfare, stating that it aligns with the institute’s commitment to the health and well-being of its faculty and staff. Dr. Murtuza Habib, Facility Director at Paras Health Srinagar, noted that the partnership aims to enhance health benefits for NIT employees while contributing to community health in the region. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman welcomed the collaboration as a vital initiative for employee welfare, aiming to alleviate challenges in accessing affordable medical treatment. The MoU is designed to ensure comprehensive, reliable healthcare, with the adoption of CGHS cash rates expected to lessen the financial burden of medical expenses. Paras Health Srinagar’s NABH accreditation guarantees adherence to quality standards. The agreement also emphasizes transparency in billing, streamlined access to medical services, and compliance with CGHS guidelines, reinforcing the commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to NIT Srinagar employees and their dependents.
