Srinagar | : Police on Monday organized awareness programs on Cyber Crime, Cyber Safety, and Online Fraud at Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Taratpora and Government Boys High School in Shartgund Bala.
The session at Taratpora, chaired by the SHO of Police Station Vilgam, engaged around 200 students and teachers. Resource officers from J&K Police addressed the emerging challenges in cyberspace, including online fraud, social media misuse, and financial scams. Participants were encouraged to adopt safe online practices, protect sensitive data, and report cyber-related offenses promptly. At Shartgund Bala, the program was led by the SHO of Police Station Qalamabad, who discussed the increasing threats of cybercrime, such as online scams and identity theft. He emphasized the importance of safe internet practices and provided tips for safeguarding personal information on digital platforms. The event fostered active participation from both students and teachers, who engaged with the resource persons to seek guidance on preventive measures against cyber-related crimes.
