Ramban : The district administration of Ramban, in collaboration with the District Police, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and Juvenile Justice Board, on Saturday reunited a 14-year-old girl with her parents from Chhattisgarh after verifying their details.
The girl was initially found on June 22, 2022, by the Ramban Police and was placed under the care of the CWC, receiving support from various shelter homes throughout her stay. On the day of the reunion, the girl was formally handed over to her extended family at the CWC office in Ramban, with key officials present, including the Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, and members of the CWC and Juvenile Justice Board. The Deputy Commissioner praised the efforts of the CWC, particularly highlighting the work of Chairperson Nighat Ghani and Member JJB Shah Niwaz in tracing the girl’s family. He expressed hope for the continued dedication of the CWC in fulfilling its responsibilities. The Senior Superintendent of Police also commended the commitment of the CWC and JJB to the welfare of children in distress, assuring ongoing support for their initiatives. The girl’s family expressed profound gratitude to the district administration, Ramban Police, and the CWC for their role in reuniting them and for the care and support provided to the girl during her time away from home, which included attention to her social and educational development.
