Srinagar | : J&K Police on Wednesday initiated awareness sessions for students at various police stations, including Handwara, Vilgam, and Qalamabad, to enhance police-public relations and educate youth about law enforcement.
The sessions were held to inform students about the police department’s structure, responsibilities, and daily operations, highlighting the importance of maintaining law and order in society. During the interactive sessions, police officers provided detailed briefings on the role of the police, the types of records maintained at police stations, such as First Information Reports (FIRs) and arrest registers, and the standard procedures for investigations and crime prevention. The initiative not only aimed to increase awareness but also to foster trust and cooperation between the police and the community. Students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about the police system, recognizing the value of such educational programs.
