Dulloo also reviews reach, scope of improvement in CSC services

Srinagar : Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesday launched the Sewa Parv initiative, aimed at enhancing citizen awareness of Cyber Security and Digital Literacy across Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). This initiative, organized by Common Service Centres (CSCs) under the Information Technology Department, seeks to improve understanding of safe digital practices and expand digital literacy in rural and urban areas.
Addressing the event Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of digital awareness in today’s technological landscape, reiterating the government’s commitment to equipping citizens with the necessary skills for secure online engagement. The Secretary of IT, Dr. Piyush Singla, outlined the action plan, which includes over 8,999 CSCs conducting awareness programs at various levels, including workshops in higher education institutions and universities, targeting around 500 participants per session. To reach remote areas, special Digital Awareness Vans and E-Carts will be deployed, and mobile awareness centers will distribute informational materials on cyber safety and digital services. The campaign will run from September 17 to October 2, 2025, with monitoring and evaluation conducted by district and divisional teams to ensure effectiveness. During a review of CSC operations, it was reported that J&K has 24,022 registered CSCs, with 15,122 actively functional. These centers have played a crucial role in facilitating various government services, including over 3.4 lakh Aadhaar transactions and 14 lakh Aadhaar Enabled Payment System transactions worth Rs 247 crore in the last financial year. Additionally, significant numbers of transactions related to banking, insurance, and skill services were recorded, showcasing the CSCs’ impact on governance and service accessibility. The CSCs have also been instrumental in implementing key government welfare schemes, with notable achievements including the enrollment of 71.6 lakh beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat health scheme and 36 lakh unorganized workers registered under the E-Shram scheme. The initiative reflects a comprehensive effort to enhance digital literacy and service delivery, ultimately contributing to socio-economic empowerment in J&K.
