CSB-CSR&TI Pampore holds demonstration prog on mulberry technologies at Bamidoora, Kokernag

Ang: The CSB-CSR&TI Pampore, in collaboration with the Sericulture Development Department, J&K Under MRMA on 11th September organized a Demonstration Programme on Mulberry Technologies at Bamidoora, Kokernag, Anantnag.
Bamidoora, a key mulberry nursery under the Sericulture Development Department J&K, supplies two-year-old mulberry saplings to the State government and farmers across the valley. Nestled in the foothills of the Pir Panjal range, it plays a vital role in supporting the sericulture sector of J&K.
Todays programme highlighted practical aspects of improving sapling survivability in the first two years, initial training, pruning, and crown formation. About 40 silkworm rearers, along with the Sericulture Assistant and field staff, actively participated.
At the end of programme, Urdu pamphlets on the yearly mulberry plantation maintenance and the importance of quality cocoons for producing superior raw silk were distributed among the stakeholders.
