Police conducts district wide inspection of SIM vendors in Shopian

Srinagar : Police in Shopian conducted a comprehensive district-wide inspection of SIM card vendors. The initiative aimed to ensure strict compliance with guidelines for SIM card sales and activations while supporting law enforcement efforts.
The inspection was carried out for compliance of “Know Your Customer (KYC)” norms, proper documentation, and the prevention of unauthorized SIM card issuance. Jurisdictional officers conducted the verification drive, closely monitoring vendors to confirm their adherence to legal and regulatory standards. The police emphasized the critical role of SIM vendors in maintaining secure communication systems and stressed the necessity of strict compliance with KYC procedures. Vendors were cautioned that failure to comply could result in severe legal consequences, including penalties, license cancellations, and potential prosecution.
