Evaluation of transit accommodation facilities conducted in Kakanmaran, Budgam
Budgam : Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Saturday visited Budgam to assess the progress of various developmental projects and flagship schemes across different departments.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of timely project completion and effective implementation of welfare schemes to uplift the local economy. During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat provided a detailed report on the District Capex Budget for 2024-25 and 2025-26, highlighting financial and physical progress, as well as the status of languishing projects. Dulloo stressed that all schemes, whether Centrally Sponsored or UT Capex, must be executed thoroughly to benefit the community. He directed departments to ensure 100 percent coverage of eligible beneficiaries and called for increased accountability through regular field inspections to monitor project statuses. The Chief Secretary urged the Agriculture Department to boost the production of exotic crops and vegetables, enhance the functioning of Kissan Khidmat Ghars, and expand Kisan Credit Card coverage.
The Chief Secretary also instructed the Sheep and Animal Husbandry departments to increase mutton and poultry production and requested horticulture guidance for orchardists. Coordination among agriculture and allied departments was deemed essential for maximizing output under the Horticulture and Agriculture Development Program (HADP). The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) was tasked with strengthening Public Distribution System (PDS) distribution, while the Employment Department was encouraged to enhance training programs for youth. The Rural Development Department (RDD) was directed to expedite the completion of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) houses and implement waste segregation initiatives. Dulloo reviewed the progress of PMGSY, PWD, and Jal Jeevan Mission projects, urging timely completion. He also highlighted the need for tourism development in areas like Doodhpathri, Tosamaidan, and Yousmarg, advocating for improved facilities to enhance visitor experiences
The Chief Secretary interacted with beneficiaries of welfare schemes, distributing approval certificates for various agricultural units and subsidized equipment. In his inspection of major infrastructure projects, including a new District Hospital and Critical Care Unit, Dulloo reiterated the government’s commitment to Budgam’s economic upliftment through effective scheme implementation, project completion, agricultural promotion, and job creation. He instructed the Deputy Commissioner to monitor developmental works closely and ensure adherence to timelines, with the review meeting attended by various departmental heads to facilitate coordinated efforts.
