Substance also Recovered: Police
Srinagar | : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team at a checkpoint established at Maharajpora, Sopore arrested a drug peddler identified as Himayun Rasool Kundoo S/o Ghulam Rasool Kundoo R/o Sher Colony, Sopore and during search recovered substantial quantity of poppy straw from his possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 157/2025 was registered under relevant provisions of law at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigations Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and appealed people to cooperate with it by sharing information related to drug peddling for the purposes of a decisive action against those involved.
