Jammu | : BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Gulam Ali Khatana on Saturday held a “Janta Darbar” in Jammu where he addressed a wide range of public grievances and launched a strong verbal attack on the National Conference (NC) government in the Union Territory.
During the public outreach event, residents from various backgrounds came forward to voice their concerns, which included issues like a lack of basic civic amenities and local disputes. Many attendees expressed frustration, stating that their problems had gone unresolved despite repeated attempts to contact local authorities. Khatana used the forum to promise a commitment to these issues, vowing to raise them in every possible platform and demand action from the administration. He also extended his condolences to the family of Parvez Ahmad from Javed Nagar, Nikki Tawi, who was recently killed, assuring them he would escalate the matter to the appropriate level.
Khatana’s visit was not just about addressing local problems; it also served as a platform for a sharp critique of the NC government. He accused the ruling party of “cheating people with false promises” and failing to deliver on its commitments, despite being in power for the past nine months. “Once again, the people of J&K have been let down. There is no progress on even basic issues,” Khatana stated. He alleged that the NC leadership was more focused on retaining power than on addressing the public’s needs, an approach he claimed was “costing the people dearly.”
