Jammu |: GGM Science College in Jammu organized an Anti-Ragging Pledge Ceremony to promote a safe and respectful campus environment. The event was attended by key figures including Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Anti-Ragging Committee Convener Dr. M. S. Saini, faculty, students, and parents.
During the ceremony, Principal Dr. Gupta emphasized the college’s strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, particularly highlighting the institution’s commitment to the welfare of first-year students. He warned that any student found guilty of ragging would face immediate rustication without the possibility of reconsideration. The attendees collectively took an Anti-Ragging Pledge, committing to uphold the values of dignity, equality, and mutual respect. The Anti-Ragging Committee has been active in raising awareness among students through various initiatives, including counseling sessions and legal briefings about the serious repercussions of ragging. Informative posters and hoardings have been placed around the campus to further educate students on the negative impact of such behavior on their academic and personal growth. Parents expressed their appreciation for the college’s proactive measures and its commitment to ensuring a safe environment for their children. Students also showed their support for the initiative, pledging to contribute to a respectful and inclusive academic atmosphere.
