Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha Adjourned For The Day Amid Continued Disruptions

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were on Wednesday adjourned for the day due to ongoing protests from Opposition MPs during the third day of the monsoon session.
The disruptions were primarily driven by demands for discussions on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the Pahalgam terror attack, and US President Donald Trump’s claims regarding peace efforts between India and Pakistan. Despite the Acting Speaker’s appeals for dialogue on the ‘Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill,’ the Lok Sabha faced repeated adjournments as opposition members continued their protests. The Speaker emphasized the need for decorum in the House, criticizing the use of placards and calling for a focus on discussion rather than sloganeering. In the midst of these disruptions, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya introduced the ‘National Sports Governance Bill, 2025’ in the Lok Sabha. The opposition has been vocal in demanding that Prime Minister Modi address both Houses on critical issues, including the recent terror attack and the electoral roll revision in Bihar, as well as responding to Trump’s statements regarding India-Pakistan relations.
