DC B’la reviews preparations for Independence Day, Directs all seamless arrangements

Baramulla :  In anticipation of the Independence Day 2025, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa Tuesday held a meeting of officers from different departments at Dak Bungalow here to review the preparations for smooth celebrations of the National day across the district.

At the outset, DC underscored the need for meticulous planning and seamless execution of all arrangements to ensure a grand and memorable Independence Day celebration.

During the meeting, it was informed that the main Independence Day function on 15th of August will be held at Showkat Ali Sports Stadium Baramulla, where the chief guest will hoist the National Flag followed by inspection of parade.

The meeting held a comprehensive discussion on arrangements to be made at the venue for the National function, including security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshment, medicare, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures.

It was given out that the march-past will be presented by contingents of JKP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency, NCC cadets, School contingents and other bands which will be followed by a colorful cultural programme by students.

Furthermore, DC directed all concerned departments to establish stalls at the event venues, providing services such as TB screening, sale counters from SHGs, AABHA registration, and raising public awareness about the benefits of various welfare schemes including DAJGUA, PM-JBY, PM-SBY, Mudra, Surya Ghar and other government-sponsored schemes.

Meanwhile, DC instructed the officers to ensure the Independence Day celebrations are conducted with enthusiasm and grandeur at their respective office premises at district, sub-divisional, tehsil and block levels to foster a sense of patriotism and community participation across the region.

The meeting was attended by the ADC Baramulla, Syed Altaf Hussain Mausvi; ADC Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina; Assistant Commissioner Development, Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain, representatives from Police and officers from other line departments.
