Kishtwar: An encounter is underway between terrorists and security forces at Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday, officials said.
An official said that an exchange of fire took place after the security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.
They said the joint operation is being carried out in the area.
Meanwhile, sources said two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
The White Knight Corps posted on X, “Op CHAS Based on specific #intelligence a joint search operation was underway in Kanzal Mandu, #Kishtwar.”
“Contact has been established with the #terrorists and #operations are in progress,” the post reads.
