Srinagar : President Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen here on Monday strongly urged the Jammu and Kashmir administration to immediately finalize all necessary arrangements for the upcoming holy month of Muharram especially in the Kashmir Valley.
Raising serious concerns about the administration’s repeated failures to provide proper facilities during Muharram, Hakeem alleged despite past promises the Omar Government has failed to bring about a perceptible change on ground. He highlighted ongoing issues such as poor sanitation, traffic problems, lack of drinking water and electricity, and insufficient medical support during this important religious time. Yaseen also sought special arrangements in key Shia-majority areas for large processions and emphasized the need for constant communication with community leaders and groups. He called for a sensitive approach from the government to ensure devotees can observe their religious duties peacefully. Yaseen sought clear directives from the Lieutenant Governor and CM Omar to ensure essential services are maintained during Muharram. He concluded that the government must show its commitment through action, not just words.
