Srinagar: Police on Saturday carried out a Wild Bhung destruction drive in the areas of Batpora, Zand Batpora and Guloora, in Handwara Police district and also destroyed wild Bhung spread over 30 Kanals of land.
The drive witnessed active participation from civil society members and Masjid Committee representatives, reflecting strong community involvement in the ongoing fight against narcotic substances. During the operation, large patches of wild Cannabis (Bhung) were identified and systematically destroyed. Awareness was also raised among the local population about the legal and social consequences of cultivating or tolerating such substances.
