Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a theft case within 48-hours by arresting two accused and also recovered stolen property worth ₹5 lakhs from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on June 3 this year Police Station Pattan received a complaint from Mohammad Amin Dar S/o Mohammad Yousuf Dar R/o Sumbal, a subcontractor with Lumino Industries Ltd, regarding the theft of Dog Conductor (wire) from the Mamoosa work site during the night of 2nd and 3rd June, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 99/2025 under relevant sections of law war registered besides initiating investigation .
Stating that during the investigation, officers, using both technical and human intelligence, identified the vehicles involved in the commission of the crime Police in its statement further said that interrogation of the suspects led to the arrest of Shabir Ahmad Tabardar S/o Ali Mohammad Tabardar R/o Singhpora and Umer Nabi Khanday S/o Gh. Nabi Khanday R/o Zangam and later based on their disclosures, the stolen wire was recovered and the vehicles used in the commission of crime were also seized. Stating that further investigation is underway Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to fight crime and appealed people to report any suspicious activity.
