Theft case solved in B’gam, 3 accused arrested: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has successfully solved a theft case by arresting three accused persons and recovering stolen property from their possession in Budgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Station Chadoora received a written complaint from one Manzoor Ahmad Chopan, S/o Habib-ul-lah Chopan R/o Bonen Chadoora, regarding the theft of tyres, batteries, and other vehicle parts from Bonen and adjoining areas during night intervening 12th and13th May.
Stating that while acting swiftly on the complaint, a case under FIR No. 86/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Chadoora besides initiating further investigations Police in its statement further said that the crime scene was thoroughly examined using both technical and conventional investigative methods. Police in its statement also said that during the course of investigation, credible leads led to the identification of suspects, and three individuals were arrested and identified as Aijaz Ahmad Doyi, S/o Abdul Rashid Doyi, Bilal Ahmad Khatana, S/o Bashir Ahmad Khatana and Mohammad Iqbal Bani, S/o Ghulam Mohammad Bani all residents of Bonen Chadoora.
Stating that upon sustained questioning, the trio confessed their involvement in the thefts, Police in its statement further said that on their disclosure, multiple raids were conducted at various locations, leading to the recovery of 9 tyres, 2 vehicle batteries, 02 speakers, 01 music player, 4 tyre desks and 1 Maruti Suzuki 800 car (Reg. No. JK05-8922), adding therein that all recovered items have been seized as part of the investigation and in view of further investigations more arrests and recoveries are expected.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police reaffirmed its commitment to protect public property and maintain law and order , appealing people therein to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcers to help curb criminal activities.
