5 vehicles involved in illegal extraction of minerals seized in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has seized five tippers I for being involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Patalbagh Pampore.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting tough against the people involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals a Police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO Police Sation Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore seized Five tippers bearing registration nos JK02AH-8984, JK04E-1427, JK03B-3251, JKO4B-3681 and JK03B-3314.
Stating that case under FIR NO. 50/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pampore besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the Government. Police in its statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
