Srinagar: Top leaders from the alliance, including Congress, on Friday skipped the crucial meeting called by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Senior Congress leader Nizam-ud-din Bhat while talking to the reporters here said that the two leaders couldn’t attend the meeting due to prior commitments in New Delhi.
Moreover, MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami also skipped the meeting due to prior commitments in Tamil Nadu, sources said.
Pertinently, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a crucial meeting at Deputy Chief Minister’s official residence at Fairview, Gupkar, Srinagar in which around 46 MLAs participated wherein two resolutions were passed—one condemning the passage of the Waqf Bill in Parliament and the other urging the Union government to respect the people’s mandate in the Union Territory
