Sonamarg :  The breathtaking valley of Sonamarg has once again become a paradise for winter lovers, as fresh snowfall blankets the region, attracting tourists in large numbers. The snow-covered landscapes, shimmering under the soft sunlight, have created a mesmerizing spectacle, drawing visitors from across the country.

With thick layers of snow covering the meadows, roads, and pine trees, tourists are making the most of their visit by engaging in a variety of winter activities. Families, honeymooners, and adventure enthusiasts were seen enjoying sledging, snowball fights, and skiing, while others soaked in the scenic beauty. The picturesque surroundings have also turned Sonamarg into a perfect destination for photography lovers, capturing the stunning contrast of white snow against the deep blue sky. Many tourists could be seen making snowmen and writing messages in the snow, embracing the magic of winter in Kashmir.

A group of tourists from Delhi, visibly excited, described their experience as surreal. “It feels like we’ve stepped into a fairy tale. The beauty of Sonamarg in winter is beyond words. The way the snow glistens under the sun is simply magical. It’s our first time visiting Kashmir in winter, and we are already planning to return next year,” said one of the visitors.

Another tourist from Bengaluru, experiencing snowfall for the first time, shared their joy: “This is my first time seeing snow, and I can’t believe how beautiful it is! The fresh mountain air, the serene atmosphere, and the warmth of the local people have made this trip unforgettable. Sonamarg is truly a hidden gem in winter.”

Tour operators and hoteliers have expressed optimism over the growing number of visitors, saying the snowfall has provided a much-needed boost to the local tourism sector. Many believe that the heavy snowfall has rekindled interest among travelers, bringing renewed hope for businesses after a relatively slow season. “The snowfall has not only delighted visitors but has also boosted our business. Hotels are witnessing good occupancy, and local transport services are in high demand. The rush of tourists has brought smiles to many faces,” said a local hotel owner.

Apart from leisure travelers, adventure seekers are also flocking to Sonamarg, drawn by the opportunity to indulge in winter sports. Several groups were seen exploring trekking trails and participating in guided snow expeditions. The region’s pristine slopes make it an ideal location for winter adventure tourism.

As the snowfall transforms this scenic valley into a winter wonderland, Sonamarg continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for those looking to experience the magic of snow-covered Kashmir. With the tourism season picking up, locals remain hopeful that the coming weeks will bring even more visitors, ensuring a prosperous winter for businesses in the region.
