Theft Case solved in G’bal, Gold Worth lacs recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Friday said that in a significant breakthrough, it has successfully solved a theft case, apprehending five individuals and recovering stolen gold valued at lakhs of rupees.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 12th September last year, Police Station Lar received a written complaint from one Abdul Rehman Shah R/o Check Yangoora who alleged therein that during the intervening night of 11th and 12th September last year unknown miscreants had entered his home and took away gold and cash. Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 42/2024 was registered besides initiating further investigation.
Stating that through meticulous investigation several suspects were identified and summoned for questioning, Police in its statement further said that the suspects summoned for question include Imtiyaz Ahmad Gooru from Authkhroo Rabitar (currently residing in Parimpora), Hilal Ahmad Dar from Gund Roshan Rabitar, Adil Ahmad Sofi from Gund-Roshan Rabitar, Javid Ahmad Mir from Guzhama Ganderbal and Lateef Ahmad Dar from Wangipora Sumbal. Police in its statement further said that during questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the commission of crime and revealed their involvement in multiple thefts across various police stations in the valley.
Stating that based on their disclosures Police recovered stolen gold items worth ₹5,50,588, including 3 golden pounds, 8 gold rings, 2 pairs of earrings, 1 pair of jumkas, and a golden chain, Police in its statement furthermore said that an Alto car bearing registration number JK01J-7340, used in the commission of the crime, was also seized.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that the recovery of the stolen property and the arrest of the perpetrators reflect the J&K Police’s unwavering commitment to protect people and uphold law and order.
