Speaker launches construction work of Entry Gate for Apsara Market

Jammu: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Kavinder Gupta Tuesday launched construction work of entry gate for Apsara Market, here Tuesday.

This beautification project for the Apsara market is being executed by JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh.

On the occasion, the Speaker said this project will help showcase the heritage status of this market, besides giving boost to the market. He assured the people that executive agencies have been directed to ensure time bound completion of this project.

The Speaker was informed about by AEE, JMC, Gurcharan Singh about various components of the beautification projects of the Apsara market.

Later, Speaker undertook visits to Satwari and Gangyal area where locals and shopkeepers projected their demands regarding various developmental works required in the area.

They informed the Speaker about the difficulties being faced by them due to limited access to MH Road Satwari as part of the expansion work of Jammu Airport, construction of bathrooms, lanes and drains, sanitation, providing safe drinking water etc.

Addressing the locals, the Speaker said concerned agencies have been directed to closely monitoring progress of these development projects and their completion will be taken on priority to ensure minimum hassle to people. He said every demand related to the development of the constituency will be been taken up at the earliest.

The Speaker also visited the family affected due to fire incident which occurred in Nai Basti area in Jammu Monday and inquired about their wellbeing. He also gave cash Rs 10000 to the affected family and assured that all possible help will be given to them.

The Speaker inaugurated Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of HDFC Bank amid good gathering of valuable customers, senior citizens and local businessmen near at CNC Hospital Trikuta Nagar in the presence of cluster and branch heads of HDFC Bank. It is 68th ATM machine installed by the bank authorities in Jammu Division.

On the occasion, the Speaker said the installation of ATM machine will facilitate people and provide services at their doorstep. He urged the people to take maximum benefit of these technology-driven services.

Among others, senior officers of concerned department and agencies, besides many senior leaders also accompanied the Speaker during his visits.
