Illicit timber recovered in Sopore, Case registered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has recovered consignment of illicit timber from village Laiser Rafiabad Sopore in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about illicit timber consignment a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha and Police Post Watergam along with officials of forest department, raided a specific location and recovered a total of 12.59 Square feet of illicit timber from the spot, adding therein that the accused involved in the crime was identified as Nazir Ahmad Rather S/o Mohammad Sadiq Rather R/o Laiser Rafiabad.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 14/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in fight against crime, assuring therein that any information related to unlawful activities or social evils can be shared with the nearest police station or by calling 112.
