Srinagar : Police in Srinagar on Friday attached the property of a drug peddler, which comprises of movable assets in the form of vehicle, valued at approximately ₹1.5 lakhs. Police also said that vehicle was acquired through the sale of illicit drugs and substances by drug peddler namely Javid Ahmad Wani S/o Ali Mohammad R/o Gasoo Hazratbal who is involved in case FIR No. 27/24 U/S 8/20, 21 NDPS of PS Zakoora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that the property was seized under the provisions of section 68 F of the NDPS Act with confirmation from the administrator and competent authority SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators- Forfeiture of Property Act), New Delhi.
Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to protectpeople from the dangers of drug abuse and pledged to continue taking stringent action against those involved in this illegal trade, adding therein that anyone interested to share information about drug-related activities is urged to contact the nearest police station.
