Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Awantipora and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during naka Checking at Kadlabal-Noorpora Crossing a Police party of Police Station Awantipora arrested two drug peddlers identified as Suhail Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Shaban Bhat R/o Kangan A/P Achabal and Meheraj ud Din Sheikh S/o Mohd Jabbar Sheikh R/o Tailwani Achabal and during search, 1.21 Kgs of grinded Cannabis-like powder was recovered from their possession.
Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that a case under FIR No. 18/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Awantipora besides initiating further investigation.
