Criminal detained under Public Safety Act in Sopore: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has detained a notorious criminal under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a criminal namely Rafiq Ahmad Khan S/o Mutawali Khan, R/o Khudwani Ladu Ladoora Rafiabad, was detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) after receiving a formal detention order from the competent authority, adding therein that the said accused has been taken into custody and is now held at District Jail Udhampur.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that many criminal cases were registered against Rafiq Ahmad Khan, yet he continued to engage in illegal activities, therein its commitment to take strict legal measures against such criminals.
