Srinagar: A meeting of District Level Implementation Committee on Mission Youth schemes was Monday convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat to review the execution of Mission Youth schemes including Mumkin, Tejaswini and Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI) in the District.
During the meeting, a total of 34 cases were approved under various Mission Youth schemes including 16 cases under SEI scheme, 14 cases under Mumkin scheme and 04 cases under Tejaswini scheme to provide self-employment to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC/Chairman DLIC highlighted the importance of these self-employment initiatives in fostering youth empowerment within the district. He stressed on giving wide publicity to these schemes so that maximum unemployed youth can avail benefits.
The Chairman DLIC impressed upon all the stakeholders to create an enabling environment through Government sponsored schemes, where youth can think beyond Government jobs and opt for gainful self-employment.
While expressing his displeasure over poor performance of certain banks by rejecting the cases approved by DLIC, the DC advised the banks operating in district to go an extra mile and show empathy towards the unemployed youth in guiding them towards the path of prosperity and self-sufficiency through various Government sponsored self-employment schemes tailored in accordance to their entrepreneurial aspirations.
