Jammu : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Saturday expressed serious concern over the prolonged delay caused by the Center on implementation of Supreme Court direction about restoration of statehood to Jammu Kashmir. He said the dual control has hugely impacted the governance, making common people the first causality.
Expressing serious concern over the prolonged delay in restoration of statehood to Jammu Kashmir Hakeem said that the Union government through Solicitor General has given an assurance to the Supreme Court, which is on record, that the Statehood would be restored soon to Jammu & Kashmir. He said Center should respect aspirations and sensitivities of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and take a call to decide urgently about the grant of Statehood. He said majority of the people of Jammu and Kashmir were against post August 5,2019 decisions and want early restoration of statehood. He said PM Narindra Modi and HM Amit shah should deliver on their promises in this regard. He said prolonged delay in statehood was germinating feelings like beteayal which in no way was in the overall interests of the country.
