Distt Admin Kishtwar organizes snowfall celebration at Chowgan Ground

Kishtwar: To promote winter tourism, the District Administration Kishtwar led by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rajesh Kumar Shavan, on Thursday organized a vibrant gathering here at the iconic Chowgan Ground amid fresh snowfall.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the civil society, youth and officers of the district administration.
To mark the occasion, snow sports such as Snow Volleyball and Snow Football were organized, with active participation from attendees. These activities added vibrancy to the celebrations and showcased the potential of Kishtwar as a winter sports destination.
Among the prominent attendees were Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pawan Kotwal, PO ICDS/CEO Kishtwar Development Authority Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh, Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) Sajjid Mustafa, District Information Officer (DIO) Dr. Kuldeep Kumar and members of the sports fraternity.
DC Kishtwar, along with the officers, took a detailed round of the Chowgan Ground and discussed future measures to enhance its aesthetic appeal and organize more snow festivities.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Kishtwar highlighted the district’s natural beauty and the potential of events like this to attract visitors and foster community engagement during the winter season.
While sharing the plans for upcoming events, the DC revealed innovative approaches to boost tourism in the district through future events.
The event concluded on a high note, with participants appreciating the efforts of the administration in providing a unique platform to celebrate the region’s natural charm. The District Administration Kishtwar reiterated its commitment to organizing such events to promote tourism and encourage community participation.
