DLSA Srinagar, Budgam organise training prog for Legal Service Unit for Children (LSUC)

Srinagar: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with DLSA Budgam, organized a two-day orientation training programme for the members of the Legal Service Unit for Children (LSUC) for the implementation of the NALSA Child-Friendly Legal Services for Children Scheme 2024.
The event, held under the chairmanship of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA Srinagar/Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar, and Om Prakash Baghat, Chairman DLSA Budgam/Principal District & Sessions Judge, Budgam, aimed to enhance the understanding and execution of the NALSA Scheme 2024.
The training programme was inaugurated at the ADR Centre, District Court Complex, Budgam, by Om Prakash Baghat in the presence of officials and members of the Legal Services Unit of DLSA Budgam.
The inaugural session underscored the scheme’s significance in ensuring access to justice for children.
Masarat Shaheen, a retired judicial officer and mentor of the committee, addressed the participants virtually, emphasizing the pivotal role of the scheme in creating child-friendly legal services.
She highlighted the need for a compassionate approach in addressing the legal needs of children.
Nusrat Ali Hakak, Civil Judge (Sr. Division) and Secretary DLSA Srinagar/DLSA Budgam, elaborated on the objectives of the orientation programme.
She stressed the importance of equipping participants with the knowledge and tools required for effective implementation of the scheme, ensuring justice reaches the most vulnerable sections of society.
Advocate Gazala Mumtaz and Sharooq Ahmad Bhat, members of the LSUC for the implementation of the NALSA Scheme 2024, shared their practical experiences in the field.
They discussed real-world challenges and best practices to address the legal needs of children effectively.
Members of the Legal Services Unit for Children from both DLSA Srinagar and Budgam actively participated in the discussions, sharing insights and experiences. The virtual participation of Budgam LSUC members enriched the discourse, contributing to a broader understanding of the scheme’s objectives and strategies for its successful implementation.
This collaborative initiative reflects the commitment of DLSA Srinagar and Budgam to building a robust legal framework for the protection of children’s rights, in alignment with the NALSA Scheme 2024.
