Srinagar: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with DLSA Budgam, organized a two-day orientation training programme for the members of the Legal Service Unit for Children (LSUC) for the implementation of the NALSA Child-Friendly Legal Services for Children Scheme 2024.
The event, held under the chairmanship of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA Srinagar/Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar, and Om Prakash Baghat, Chairman DLSA Budgam/Principal District & Sessions Judge, Budgam, aimed to enhance the understanding and execution of the NALSA Scheme 2024.
The training programme was inaugurated at the ADR Centre, District Court Complex, Budgam, by Om Prakash Baghat in the presence of officials and members of the Legal Services Unit of DLSA Budgam.
The inaugural session underscored the scheme’s significance in ensuring access to justice for children.
Masarat Shaheen, a retired judicial officer and mentor of the committee, addressed the participants virtually, emphasizing the pivotal role of the scheme in creating child-friendly legal services.
She highlighted the need for a compassionate approach in addressing the legal needs of children.
Nusrat Ali Hakak, Civil Judge (Sr. Division) and Secretary DLSA Srinagar/DLSA Budgam, elaborated on the objectives of the orientation programme.
