Ansari inaugurates Polytechnic College G’bal

Ganderbal: Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Technical Education and Information Technology, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Monday reiterated that Government is committed to boost technical education, adding technical education is a way forward to overcome unemployment problem in the State.
The Minister was addressing at a function after inaugurating the polytechnic college at Hatbura Ganderbal Monday.
MLA Ganderbal Sheikh IshfaqJabbar, Secretary Youth Services & Sports and Technical Education Hilal Ahmad Parray, Director Technical Education Shabnam Kamili, Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal Nazir Ahmad Baba were present on the occasion, besides other officers and students.
Molvi Ansari said Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is seriously working for the welfare of the youth, adding that various new and innovative measures are under way in this regard.
The Minister was informed that the college building was constructed within a record period of two and a half year at a cost of Rs.13 crore, where in Civil and Electrical engineering courses shall be taught. It was further given out that the college has 22 labs, 9 class rooms, 4 workshops, 2 drawing halls, besides, library with 9038 books, computer lab with 29 computers and seminar hall.
The Minister asked Secretary Youth Services & Sports to set up a basketball and volleyball courts in the college camps.
The Minister directed Director Technical Education for immediate installation of 100 KV generator for heating arrangements in the college, besides providing Vehicle for the campus students.
Referring to the ITI Ganderbal, Molvi Ansari said District administration Ganderbal has already been directed to allot 15 kanals of land for ITI to further develop it on modern lines.
