2-days range level workshop on NDPS Act cases held at DPL B’la

Srinagar : Two-days’ workshop on the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance (NDPS) Act cases was held in association with Narcotic and Control Bureau (NCB), J&K at DPL Baramulla here on Thursday. The main motive is to provide the participants with in-depth understanding of the provisions, enforcement mechanism and practical application of the NDPS Act.
The workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range Maqsood-Ul-Zaman, GOs/ NGOs and prosecuting officers from all the districts of range NKR participated. The proceedings of the workshop were also broadcasted through video conferencing facility for outstation SSPs of Range NKR. The DIG NKR Baramulla while addressing, emphasized that we gather here for a common goal on deepening our understanding of the challenges, solutions and strategies in tackling drug abuse, trafficking and related offences. “The workshop comes at a critical time that will allow us to engage with experts, share insights and enhance our collective ability to address the evolving drug crisis”, he said, adding that “ Through interactive discussions and case studies we aim to equip all the participants with the knowledge, tools and strategies to effectively contribute for our shared mission”. DIG NKR Baramulla stressed on the importance of collaboration with agencies, legal practitioners, policy makers and social workers for their role in fight against the drug menace and its human cost which have destroyed families and has left future shattered. DIG NKR encouraged all the participants to ask questions and share their experiences as the diversity of thought, knowledge and experiences will be the corner stone for the success of this training programme.
At conclusion, DIG NKR Baramulla extended heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished speakers of NCB and all other participants for showing dedication to the cause of combating narcotics abuse and trafficking. DIG NKR closed the program with a message to move forward together with renewed vigour, stronger partnerships and a commitment for creating a safer and healthier future for all.
