G’bal : A 22-year-old youth died after a branch of a chinar tree fell on him at Patti Rampora area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the youth identified as Omaan Akbar Ganai of Safapora was passing by the area when some labourers were cutting the chinar tree.
He said a branch of the tree fell on Omaan, resulting in critical injuries to him. “He was immediately taken to District Hospital Ganderbal, where he was declared dead,” the official said.
The body of Omaan was handed over to his family after completing the medical formalities.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident.
Moreover, the district administration Ganderbal has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
In order to ascertain the facts, Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Assistant Commissioner Revenue has been appointed as Inquiry Officer, who shall submit a detailed enquiry report to this office of ADC Ganderbal within a week’s time positively
