BUDGAM; As part of the ongoing month-long National Campaign, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKNRLM), in collaboration with Special Cell for Women Budgam ps chadoora , conducted a day-long awareness program on the elimination of gender-based violence at Kanihama Block BKPora, Budgam, today.
The program witnessed participation from Self-Help Group (SHG) members, Social worker from Special Cell for Women, Budgam,besides the officials from the Mission.
The program aimed to highlight the pressing issue of gender-based violence and raise public awareness regarding its elimination.
Speakers extensively discussed various facets of the issue, including the causes and consequences of gender-based violence, types of discrimination and violence experienced by individuals based on gender, the importance of reporting and addressing incidents of gender-based violence, and proactive measures to prevent and eliminate such violence.
Madina Bukhari, Block Programme Manager, JKRLM ,BKPora, emphasized the need for collective efforts to address gender-based violence and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.
The program concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony, reaffirming the commitment to end gender-based violence and promoting women’s empowerment. Additionally, all the toll-free numbers,women commission help line Nos were shared among the participants by women’s Special Cell for women Budgam.
