Srinagar : Police in Handwara on Tuesday facilitated a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) Meeting at Police Station Handwara.
The meeting was chaired by Sr. Superintendent of Police Handwara Shri Mushtaq Ahmed-JKPS, besides SDPO Handwara Hamid Ali, SHO Police Station Handwara Inspector Showkat Ahmad and other officers and officials were also present in the meeting. The meeting was attended by the respectables of Handwara area including religious preachers, members of Trade Federation, Numberdars and Chowkidars who put up various issues of public importance. Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, SSP Handwara assured that these issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal and added that police will provide its legal support as and when required for the betterment of the society. The chairing officer added that such meetings are conducted to solicit the suggestions and support of people for better policing and would be conducted in future as well.
The participants were stressed to cooperate with Handwara Police in maintaining law and order in the area and in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. He also thanked people for participating in the meeting and providing valuable suggestions. The SSP Handwara also assured the participants that strict action against drug peddlers will be continued in its full pace as per the law.
