Drug Peddler Arrested In Srinagar, Psychotropic Substance Recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Srinagar and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station M.R Gunj arrested a drug peddler identified as Altaf Ahmad Shah S/o Gulam Hassan Shah R/o Dalal Mohalla Zainakadal and during search recovered 500 tablets of banned composition and 15 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from Hyundai i-20 bearing registration No. JK15A-8122 driven by the aforementioned accused who had intentionally hidden these in the boot cavity and underside of driver seat of the car.
Stating that the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized and a case under FIR No. 48/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered Police Station M.R Gunj besides initiating further investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
