Legal Services Awareness Week: Chairman DLSA G’bal flags-off Legal Awareness Mobile Vans

Ganderbal : Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority and J&K Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal in coordination with District Police Ganderbal, today celebrated Legal Services Week in commemoration of National Legal Services Day.
The program was organised under the theme “Empowering Justice: Accessible Legal Aid for All,”. The DLSA launched an inspiring initiative to promote equal justice, free and competent legal aid to marginalized communities, especially in rural areas.
Abdul Nasir, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal flagged-off three legal awareness mobile vans today from Court premises, in presence of Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Mahoor, Chairperson TLSC, Ganderbal, Nazir Ahmad, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DAR) Ganderbal, LADCS, PLVs and other dignitaries.
By deploying mobile legal awareness vans, DLSA Ganderbal’s aim is to break down barriers and provide access to justice for all, particularly the underprivileged, disadvantaged, and weaker segments of society in rural and far off areas of the District.
A team of Panel Lawyers, PLVs (Adhikar Mitras), Social Activist and representatives of police department accompanied the vans in order to provide accessible free and competent legal aid to all, particularly marginalized communities in the rural areas.
The initiative aims to promote awareness about free and competent legal services, educate people about their rights, and ensure justice and equality for all.
They event began by spreading awareness across the district, covering areas like Dursuma Manigam, Wussan, Kangan, Ganiwan, Mammer, Sumbal Bala, Gund etc. The team’s enthusiastic campaign, marked by raising slogans like “Break your silence & raise your voice,” has already generated interest among legal aid seekers, with several grievances/ applications received during the day long programme.
Awareness about the NALSA toll free helpline number 15100 was also spread. The general public was informed about the free and competent legal aid services available to them at their door steps.
