Srinagar: Kashmir-based medico cum noted health columnist Dr. Tasaduk Hussain Itoo has been awarded with certification in Antimicrobial Stewardship from prestigious Stanford University School of Medicine(USA).
The certification was conferred upon Dr Itoo following his successful completion of course on ‘Antimicrobial Stewardship’ offered by Stanford University School of Medicine. Antimicrobial stewardship is a well-structured and coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms. Pertinently, Dr Itoo is working as a doctor at SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Jammu and is affiliated with reputed medical organizations including American College of Physicians(USA), Endocrine Society(USA), Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India(RSSDI).
