Nadaun (HP): Amid patriotic slogans, Army soldier Arvind Singh, who was martyred while fighting militants in Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir, was cremated with full state honours in Hathol village in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district on Sunday.
His younger brother Paramjit lit the pyre in the presence of hundreds of locals
On this occasion, Army officers, senior officers of the district administration, DC Amarjit Singh, Tehsildar and other officers were present.
Arvind was martyred in Chhatru of Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
DC Amarjit Singh said that in this hour of grief the administration and the government were with Arvind’s family
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, former Chief Minister P K Dhumal and MP Anurag Thakur have mourned the death of the soldier.
